When wind lifts shingles or a limb comes through the roof, the first job is stopping the water. The second is documenting what happened before anything is changed. The third is the permanent repair. Doing them out of order can cost you a claim.

What matters here in Oregon
The valley and coast get their wind events between November and February, often with rain behind them. Coast Range gusts lift ridge caps and rake edges first, and crease shingles that do not blow off outright but will fail later.
Document before you repair. Take wide and close photos, note the date of the storm, and get a written estimate that ties the damage to that event. Insurers deny claims that show up as a repair with no before-state.
Not every lifted shingle is a claim. Sometimes it is a handful of fasteners and a tube of sealant. We will tell you when it is small enough to just fix and when it is worth filing.
How it goes
The process, start to finish
- Call. Tell us if there is active water coming in. That moves you to the front of the line.
- Tarp. We get a tarp over the opening to stop the leak, before more weather arrives.
- Document. Photos, storm date, and a written scope tying the damage to the event, for your insurer.
- Estimate. You get a repair estimate formatted for claim submission, plus our honest read on whether to file.
- Repair. Once the path is clear, we make the permanent repair and verify it is watertight.

Good to know
How fast can you respond?
Active leaks are prioritized for same or next-day tarping when it is safe to get on the roof. Full repairs are scheduled after the weather clears.
Do you help with the insurance claim?
We document the damage, tie it to the storm date, and write the estimate in a format your adjuster can work from. We are not public adjusters, but our paperwork is built for the claim.
What counts as storm damage?
Wind-lifted or creased shingles, blown-off shingles and ridge caps, limb impact, and the leaks that follow. Age and wear are not storm damage and will not be covered, which is why documentation matters.
How much does emergency tarping cost?
It depends on the roof's height, pitch, and the size of the opening. We give you the number before we go up. It is usually credited toward the permanent repair if you use us for both.
